About The Clean Cooking Alliance Venture Accelerator

The Clean Cooking Alliance Venture Accelerator has been designed to support clean cooking SMEs in West Africa to enhance their opportunities to accessing carbon financing commitments while promoting climate goals. The main objective of the program is to provide tailored technical assistance towards creating an enabling platform for SMEs in the clean cooking industry to become investment ready and access carbon financing. The program aims to:

  • Enhance carbon related technical and operational capacity in clean cooking enterprises and project developers
  • Increase mobilization of carbon finance for clean cooking enterprises - by reducing risks for pre-financiers and carbon buyers
  • Support ecosystem efforts geared towards building Africa's participation in carbon markets by supporting the growth of carbon project developers.

Key Features of the CCA Programme

This program aims to do the following

Tailored Technical Assistance

Enhance carbon related technical and operational capacity in clean cooking enterprises and project developers

Coaching & Training

Access to expert coaches/ mentors to help with capacity building as well as designing an implementation of carbon finance strategy.

Support

Post-program support through relationships with investors and collaborators in the larger clean cooking community.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must have a full-time management team
  • Business should be domiciled in West Africa
  • Minimum sales revenue of USD 100K in the last financial year
  • Must have at least three years of operating history and a proven business model
  • Be committed to participate in a 5-day, in-person bootcamp in Ghana in November 2023
  • Female-led/founded/co-founded and locally founded enterprises are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to commit at least four days per month to the program over a 4-to-5-month period
