He is the Grant Manager for mLab Ghana, a US$1.2million project under Ghana’s Ministry of Communication with funding from the World Bank, with the objective of promoting the development of digital start-ups, supporting them to develop their prototype and launching on the market. He is also the Grant Manager for the World Bank sponsored Ghana Climate Venture Facility with a budget of $3.2m. He previously designed and/or led on enterprise support programs like the Innohub Accelerator Program, Solidaridad West Africa’s Accelerator for Responsible Gold, fLab Incubator for females in tech, the British Council’s ReadyToWork incubator program for 25 small and growing businesses, and many others. He was part of a consortium that executed the World Bank sponsored Cross Border Climate Technology Diffusion program in Ghana.
Nelson has also led consulting projects across several industries including m-health, renewable energy, agribusiness, green housing, etc. Nelson is a Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance Fellow and a Coach of the Africa Entrepreneurship Awards, hosted by the BMCE Bank of Africa in Morocco annually. He holds a Train-the-Trainer certificate from Coventry University’s Africa Institute for Transformational Entrepreneurship. He has great love for coaching and supporting entrepreneurs.
He brings to the team a wealth of experience in delivering financial advisory to Innohub as well as support for grant financial management and reporting requirements for donor sponsored projects from partners like the World Bank, British Council, GIZ, French Development Agency, etc. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He is also an Enterprise Risk Management Specialist from the ERM Africa. Emmanuel is passionate about bringing numbers to life and turning data into actionable insights.
Melissa has worked with the University of Rhode Island-Coastal Resources Center, serving as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer under the $25 million USAID Feed-the- Future Sustainable Fisheries Management Project. During the period, she reviewed existing data source quality and collection methods and coordinated with project’s implementing partners to address identified gaps. She also supported in the management of data collection and data quality control processes for the project.
Prior to joining Innohub, Melissa served as a Gender, Climate and Entrepreneurship Advisor on the Accelerating Women Climate Entrepreneurs’ Project (West, East & Southern Africa) implemented by the World University Services of Canada.
Melissa holds a Master’s degree with Distinction in Engineering and Management from Coventry University, and an undergraduate degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She also holds certificates in Financial Markets, Human Subjects Research, Gender-responsive Monitoring & Evaluation and Monitoring & Evaluation for Development Professionals. She is a certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt professional.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and an HND in Purchasing and Supply from Kumasi Polytechnic. He is most excited about startups and their journey to growth especially in establishing the right customer relationships and efficient distribution channels.
She is a $50,000 seed fund winner from the Kosmos Innovation Center Challenge program where she co-founded CompleteFarmer Ltd, a YFP fellow from MBC-Africa and a former Research analyst for AgInnovate where she handled company research and policy formation for business development.
Currently, she holds an MPhil in Agricultural Administration and a BSc in Agricultural Science from the University of Ghana.
